MisOcc, DSWD grant P8.5-million aid to 34 associations
TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental –
The Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental, together with the Department
of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and local chief executives, provided
P8.5M worth of livelihood assistance to 34 association representatives in the
province.
The livelihood grant is intended
to boost the livelihood activities of the associations in the province and
provide them with the necessary support to help them become productive.
The program offered an incredible
opportunity for individuals who wish to expand their existing enterprises and
make a positive impact on their community. By taking advantage of this chance,
they can explore new avenues for growth and development, which could lead to
increased profitability, greater market reach, and more job opportunities for
residents.
Each organization with 10-30
members received a start-up capital ranging from P100,000 to P300,000.
Governor Henry S. Oaminal
reminded the beneficiaries to use the funds wisely and make the most of the
Sustainable Livelihood Program, which can sustain their livelihood and improve
their lives.
“Swerte mo kay sa kadaghan
organizations karon kamo mao’y nahimong beneficiary niining maong programa.
magpuyong malambuon,’’ he said.
Governor Oaminal has ordered the
Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) Office to establish a division
for the growth of their businesses in that project, and he also promised to
double the assistance from the province.
The DSWD-10 Assistant Regional
Director for Operation Ronald Ryan Cui expressed his hope that the
beneficiaries of the SLP would take care of their grant and use it for the
intended purpose.
“Ang association gitagaan og
capital para ma-improve ang inyong panginabuhian. I hope himoon ninyo ang
inyong mga role ug gamiton nato sa unsa’y purpose ug sakto nga gamitan ani.
Palambo-a ninyo ni kay linya usab kini sa vision sa Asenso MisOcc nga ang mga
Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon.
He said SLP will also provide the
necessary technical assistance to the 34 associations that helped 661
beneficiaries, guiding them develop their livelihood projects.
This program is a testament to
the government's commitment to uplifting the lives of the people in the
